"Interactions between tectonic and volcanic activity
and implications for eruption forecasting "

Every year we focus on a given topic, however, our workshops deal with all fields related to volcano seismology.

Arrival of participants in Pico, Azores, Portugal and stay at the hotel "Casa do Comendador" in São Miguel Arcanjo, São Roque do Pico.

Tue 15/09/2009 - Fri 18/09/2009

Scientific presentations and short field excursions

Fri 19/09/2009
Travel of all participants to the island of Fayal. Excursion in Fayal.

Sun 20/09/2009
Departure of participants from Fayal to Lisbon and then home

Please make your travel arrangements such that you arrive on September, 14 (or before, see below) and depart on September 20, 2009, and not during the meeting!!!

There will be also a pre-workshop fieldtrip (details below). If you want to participate, please book your arrival flight for September 9, 2009 to the island of Terceira, not Pico!

Wed 09/09/2009:
Arrival of the participants in the island of Terceira (you can reach it directly from Lisbon)

Thu 10/09/2009 - Sun 13/09/2009:
Fieldtrip on the islands of Terceira and São Jorge

Sun 13/09/2009:
Departure from São Jorge to São Roque do Pico.

Mon 14/09/2009:
Excursion on the island of Pico. This excursion can be taken also by conference participants who will arrive on 13/09/2009.

Location & Accommodation:

The conference will be based in the  Casa do Comendador (Hotel) and in the Pousada da Juventude (Youth Hostel)
Please do not contact the hotel or youth hostel directly at this stage, the organisers will arrange accommodation.
