Workshop Title
“S.O.S.: Seismic and Other Signals”
Modern
volcano monitoring aims at a comprehensive understanding of volcanological phenomena and multidisciplinarity
has become a common approach. Although being a seismology working
group, we
welcome contributions which concern seismic and other data as well.
Bruno Martinelli Travel Grant
The Bruno Martinelli Fund was founded in 2001 to continue the support of scientific and personal exchange which Bruno encouraged. It is used for international meeting/workshop travel grants to young researchers or graduate students from Latin American and Caribbean countries. Please apply through the following link:

The abstracts will be collected in an on-line
volume. The web site for abstract submission will be open from June 1.

For our group, the cost of the half
board per person is 60 Euros in a double room and 70 Euros in a single
room.
Prices may be cheaper for those of the participants who are going to
share
their room (there is one possibility for up to four beds and three with
three
beds in a room).
The hotel has 18 rooms reserved for
us in the time span 17 - 24 September (there will be only dinner on 17
September, only breakfast on 24 September).
Participants of the workshop are
requested to book directly in Punta Scario Hotel as
soon as possible, specifying that they are members of the Working Group.
The hotel is located at Malfa,
a small town in the northern side of the island. It
is at 7 km from the harbor of Santa Marina, and can be reached by
public
transportation or by taxi (recommended).

Hydrofoils to Salina start from Naples and Milazzo. The most convenient airports to reach
the Aeolian
Islands are Naples and Catania. We will provide additional information
on transportation
through this website in due course.
Language and Conference Fee
The official language of the workshop is
English. As usual there is no registration fee; however the conveners
suggest
that participants bring a bottle of wine and/or typical sweet of their
own
country, as it has become tradition for this annual meeting.
Field Excursions
Field Excursions will be held at Salina (on
September 20) and Vulcano (on September
22).
