Bringing geophysical volcano monitoring techniques to an operational level

<>

Highland Resort Tomohon near Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia

September 8th - 14th, 2013

Convenors:

Surono, Centre for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation Geological Agency, Bandung, Indonesia

Jurgen Neuberg, University of Leeds, UK

Roberto Carniel, University of Udine, Italy

This workshop addresses geophysical forecasting methods in all major volcanic monitoring disciplines such as seismicity, ground deformation and gas emission. The emphasis will be on assessing these methods regarding their applicability on an operational level as it could be found in a volcano observatory or a similar institution charged with giving guidance and advice to decision makers at short- and mid-term time scales. The number of participants will be limited to 25 and the major focus will be on presentations with plenty of time for discussion, rather than 15 minute conference contributions.

The Highland Resort Tomohon can be easily accessed from Manado, Sulawesi, which can be easily reached from Singapore through daily flights. Accommodation ranges between 30 - 60 Euros per double/twin room.

Please register as soon as possible your interest by email to both:
