Biography

Andrea is a senior lecturer within the school and has worked on atmospheric science research projects investigating the chemical and physical factors affecting the presence of atmospheric oxidants, in particular hydrogen peroxide and organic hydroperoxides. Andrea's most recent work has involved laboratory based measurements to characterize the physical and chemical characteristics of aerosols derived from frost flowers that grow on the surface of young sea ice in polar regions.

Andrea also has pedagogic research interests, in particular the challenges presented by the transition of students from school to University and student engagement / academic community building. Andrea has received various L&T awards to support this work and is a current University of Leeds Teaching Fellow working on the project 'A student led approach to building academic community'.
