




OBJECTIVESTo bring together researchers in polar science via a series of research seminars, conferences, workshops etc.
To encourage the exchange of ideas leading to research grant and other funding submissions.
To establish links with departments, centres and individuals elsewhere with the aim of promoting reciprocal visits, exchanges of staff and collaborative research.
To provide practical expertise and support for researchers wishing to undertake research in polar regions, based on accumulated experience of Centre members who have worked in these unusual and extreme field locations.
To promote sharing of logistics for field work to facilitate efficient and effective field programmes.
To develop safety training courses for polar field workers.
