Example of a sheath fold developed in Moine psammites. This
fold has a test-tube like shape in 3D, visible in the outcrop. An intense stretching
lineation plunges parallel to the length of the "tube" - the main
hinge line of the sheath fold. Folds like this are thought to require very high
values of simple shear in order to form.
